Un weekend praticamente perfetto per Esteve Rabat che sul circuito di Jerez dopo la prima pole in carriera ottiene anche la prima vittoria.
Vince con un vantaggio di +4.261 e con questo primo posto si prende anche la prima posizione nella classifica della Moto2.
Completano il podio Scott Redding (Marc VDS Racing Team) e Pol Espargaro (Tuenti HP 40) che negli ultimi giri, nonostante qualche problema con il doppiato Sucipto, riesce a superare Taakaki Nakagami (Italtrans Racing Team), arrivato quarto, che cede agli attacchi dello spagnolo.
Arriva quinto Nicolas Terol (Mapfre Aspar Team Moto2), sesto Xavier Simeon (Desguaces La Torre Maptaq) e settimo Jordi Torres (Mapfre Aspar Team Moto2).
Primo degli italiani in quattordicesima posizione Simone Corsi (NGM Mobile Racing). Lo seguono a ruota il sammarinese Alex De Angelis (NGM Mobile Forward Racing) e Mattia Pasini (NGM Mobile Racing).
Da evidenziare la gara positiva del francese Johann Zarco (Came Iodaracing Project) che partito trentesimo rimonta fino alla tredicesima piazza.
Cadono Kyle Smith (Blusens Avintia), Ratthapark Wilairot (Thai Honda PTT Gresini Moto2), Dani Riva (TSR Motorsport), Mika Kallio (Marc VDS Racing Team), Danny Kent (Tech3), Alex Mariñelarena (TargoBank Motorsport) e per l’ennesima volta Axel Pons (Tuenti HP 40).
